Overview

The stock bypass valve uses a plastic valve which will make a honking sound when boost is increased, it is also insufficient to relieve pressure during shifting. The new valves claim an increase of 2-3 horsepower, but the purpose of this upgrade it improve boost levels during shifting. The Forge valve will hold high pressures better and will relieve them at a higher rate than the stock valve. This is the valve of choice for most Saab upgraders.

The NG 900 can function with a blow off valve. The 9-3's T7 engine management system does not allow the use of blow off valves.
